April 30, 2007 - Ashley is graduating from ASU on May 10th and will be moving to Maryland a few days later to train with coach Kelli Hill. She is hoping to return to elite competition and maybe make a run for the 2008 Olympics. More info is in this article. Best of luck Ash!!

April 29, 2006 - Ashley ended her NCAA career on a high note as she placed 3rd on the uneven bars behind Courtney Kupets and Kristina Baskett. ASU finished 9th as a team and will look to build on that ranking during the 2007 gymnastics season.

April 9, 2006 - ASU upset #1 seed ISU to win a berth to Nationals last night! Ashley had a fantastic meet placing in the top 6 in every event -- she tied for 1st on bars & won the beam & all-around. Nationals start April 20th in Corvallis, OR. ASU is in the evening session along with Georgia, Florida & others. GOOD LUCK SUN DEVILS!!

March 20, 2006 - Ashley won the 21st AA title of her NCAA career on Saturday vs. Denver. Although ASU lost, they boosted their RQS up quite a bit and now sit in 9th place in the country. Ashley is still the #2 AA gymnast in the country and is ranked #4 on beam and tied for #6 on bars. ASU travels to Corvallis, OR this week for the Pac 10 Championships.

March 12, 2006 - Ashley once again picked up 4 individual titles (bars, beam, floor, all-around) Friday night as ASU defeated Iowa State 197.750 - 197.000. Ashley got a perfect 10 on beam and tied her career high score for the all-around with a 39.875, marking her 20th career AA win. It was senior night for Ashley & Lauren Powell. The Sun Devils travel to Denver next weekend and then to Oregon the week after for Pac 10 Championships. Good luck girls!

March 3, 2006 - Ashley picked up 4 individual titles (vault, bars, beam, all-around) tonight as ASU defeated Cal. ASU returns to action next Friday for senior night -- Ash's last home meet ever!

February 1, 2006 - ASU remains undefeated this season as they beat Seattle Pacific & the University of Washington last Friday. Ashley won a share of the beam title with a 9.875 & finished 2nd in the all-around. A few days prior to the meet, Ashley was named the Pac 10 gymnast of the week! :)

January 22, 2006 - ASU defeated Arizona in their first home meet of the season! Ashley won 3 individual titles (bars, beam & all-around) & placed 2nd (vault) & 3rd (floor) on the other two events.

January 16, 2006 - Helped by a brand new gym & a healed team, ASU won their first meet of the season at Boise State 193.15 - 189.95. Ashley had a fall on bars, but was solid on the other events, tying for 2nd in the all-around. ASU has their 1st home meet against Arizona this Sunday, so best of luck to them!

April 24th, 2005 - Unfortunately, the 2005 season ended abruptly for Ashley + her ASU teammates. The team placed 5th at Regionals and Ashley fell from her best event (beam) and ended up 9th all-around. April Boone, however, won a berth to Nationals as an individual, where she placed 13th all-around. Congratulations to April and the rest of the team for making the most out of an injury-filled season.
Despite the negative outcome for Ashley's junior year, she has a lot to be proud of. Including her Pac 10 win on beam, she claimed 26 individual titles this season, including 5 all-around honors! We can't wait to see what Ashley has in store for next season :)

March 27, 2005 - Ashley ended up competing all four events after all and had a very successful meet :) She got 3rd on bars, 3rd all around and tied for 1st on beam with Kristen Maloney! Way to go Ash! ASU's next meet is Regionals, in a little less than 2 weeks.

March 25, 2005 - Ash + the Sun Devils compete at Pac 10's tomorrow afternoon in California. Ashley's ankle is feeling a little better, so she is hoping to compete a watered down floor routine, along with beam and bars. She hasn't practiced floor since the injury -- she plans to warm it up for the 1st time at the meet + if her ankle feels ok, she'll compete her routine.

March 21, 2005 - ASU posted their highest team score of the season at Utah last Friday, which has really helped out their RQS. Unfortunately, Ashley was only able to compete on 2 events (bars + beam) because of an ankle injury that occured the prior week. She tied her season high on beam (9.95) and posted a very solid score on the bars as well (9.875). Her status for the remainder of the season is still unknown. Get well soon Ash ♥

February 11, 2005 - Ashley had her most successful 2005 meet tonight against Cal. She went 4 for 4 and ended up sweeping the competition, scoring above a 9.85 on every event. Her all around total of 39.575 was a season high for her. The Sun Devils also snapped their 4-meet losing streak and beat their first Pac 10 opponent of the season. Ashley was also named tonight's MVP of the ASU team :)

February 5, 2005 - Last night against OSU, Ashley won 3 events (VT, UB, BB) and was well on her way to sweeping the medal stand when she had a fall on floor that knocked her down to 3rd place AA. She had amazing routines on all events and was almost perfect except for the floor mistake. Next weekend, ASU hosts Cal in an effort to win their first Pac 10 meet of the season. Good luck girls! :)

January 28, 2005 - Last weekend against Arizona, Ashley won the 12th all-around title of her career! She also placed in the top 3 in all individual events, with wins in the vault and bars. Tonight, Ashley and the Sun Devils host UCLA and then travel to Oregon State University next weekend for another dual meet.

April 20, 2004 - Although the Sun Devils placed 6th in the evening qualifying session at Nationals, Ashley had a very successful meet! Along with tying for 4th in the all-around (she tied with 2000 Olympian Elise Ray), she also made event finals on the balance beam. During event finals on Saturday night, Ashley outshined the competition on that event with a 9.950 to capture her first NCAA title!! In the process of the whole meet, Ashley wound up a 4-time All American (1st team for AA and beam, 2nd team for vault and floor). Way to go Ash!! :D

April 5, 2004 - Ashley and the Sun Devils finished 2nd to LSU at Regionals, qualifying for NCAA Nationals in 2 weeks! Ashley placed 2nd in the all-around, won beam and tied for first on vault :) So far this season, Ashley has hit 42 out of 44 routines and won a total of 26 AA and individual event finals. Also, Ashley made First-Team All-Pacific-10 on beam and AA, joining a very elite group of gymnasts.

March 26, 2004 - Ashley had another successful meet at Pac 10's, competing against some of the best gymnasts in the country. She placed 5th all-around and tied for the title on the balance beam! Ashley and her teammates are traveling to LSU next Wednesday for the NCAA Regionals. The meet takes place Friday April 2nd so wish them luck!

March 12, 2004 - Ashley moved into the record books tonight as one of only 2 gymnasts at ASU to win 5 straight AA titles! The other gymnast was Tina Brinkman, who accomplished the same feat 10 years ago. In the past 5 meets, Ashley has won or tied for 18 event titles, including her 5 AA wins. Keep it up Ash!!

March 10, 2004 - Ashley is just on fire this season! After picking up her 4th consecutive all-around title (and 3 event titles also) she was named Pac 10 Gymnast of the Week :) (She shared the weekly honor with standout freshman Chelsea Plourde of Oregon State!) She goes for a record-tying 5th all-around title this weekend against Minnesota.

March 4, 2004 - Ashley continues to pick up speed and event titles as she leads the Sun Devils to the NCAA Championships. She captured her 8th career all-around title at last weekend Master's Classic in Nebraska. Congrat's Ash!

February 6, 2004 - Ashley has been performing really well so far this season, showing that her success last year was anything but a fluke! Her highest AA score this season is a 39.525, which occured against Stanford. Check out the results section for more detailed info.

February 28, 2003 - Ashley won her first NCAA meet tonight in the annual UNO's Classic against #25 California and Rutgers. ASU also posted their third highest team ever en route to victory, 197.825-196.100-193.125. Ashley's all around of 39.750 and floor score of 9.950 were career bests as well.

February 24, 2003 - ASU is now ranked #4 in the country and will be hosting Cal-Rutgers at home on the 28th. They are ranked 6th on vault (49.190), 5th on beam (49.265), 5th on bars (49.200), and 11th on floor (49.185). Ashley is ranked 11th in the all around (39.305) and 10th on beam (9.905).

February 21, 2003 - Still ranked #7, ASU competed at #8 Stanford this evening. They lost by only 3 tenths, 197.200-196.900. Ashley again scored a 9.950 on beam, earning 1st, and was 3rd in the all around.

February 16, 2003 - Facing #1 ranked UCLA, ASU was ranked #7 before the meet started. Unfortunately they fell to the Bruins, 198.400-198.150. This was ASU's first 198+ score in the history of their program! Ashley placed second in the all-around and finished in the top 9 on all four events, her highest being 2nd on bars. Her 9.950 on beam tied a personal best and her 9.900 on floor was a new best. ASU also set a season best on vault, 49.375, and a school record on beam, 49.875!

February 7, 2003 - Going against Oregon State, ASU was ranked #6 in the country! Unfortunately they lost, 196.325-195.750. Ashley placed third in the all-around.

January 31, 2003 - Competing at Arizona, Ashley placed 3rd in the all around and placed in the top 3 on bars, beam, and floor! ASu beat Arizona, 196.950-196.175. They also set a school record on bars with a total of 49.475. Ashley's bar score was also a personal best for her on that event - 9.950.

January 24, 2003 - ASU beat Utah on the road today, 197.450-197.150, giving 23rd-year head coach John Spini his first road victory over the Utes.

January 17, 2003 - ASU beat Washington with their third highest score in team history, 197.300-194.150. Ashley, in only her second ASU meet, posted career highs in all four events: vault (9.875), bars (9.900), beam (9.95) and floor (9.825).

January 5, 2003 - Ashley competed yesterday at the 2003 Maui Invitational in Maui, Hawaii. This was her very first NCAA meet and she placed 3rd in the all-around with a score of 38.975 behind Stanford's Lise Leville (39.400), and Natalie Foley (39.350). Ashley also placed 2nd on bars (9.825) and 2nd with her team (194.200). For more information, read this article!

February 12, 2002 - Ashley turned 18 on February 2nd! We hope you had a happy birthday Ashley!

October 26, 2001 - Many people have sent in emails asking where Ashley plans to go to college next year, and we are happy to annouce that she has given a verbal commitment to Arizona State University!

August 11, 2001 - 6:29 pm - Ashley's first event presented some problems:

Beam: roundoff, layout mount; back handspring, layout stepout, layout stepout; switch leap, tuck jump full; 1 1/2 turn leg at horizontal; front aerial; front aerial; punch front (fall); cartwheel, gainer double full - 8.075 (dropped to 19th after rotation one)

6:57 pm - Rotation two went much better:

Floor: double pike; front handspring, front full, front full; roundoff, back handspring, double full - 8.100 (still in 19th after rotation two)

7:11 pm - Third rotation:

Vault: layout Yurchenko, Yurchenko-full - 8.562 (moved up to 18th after rotation three)

7:37 pm - Last rotation:

Bars: giant 1/2 turn to el grip, el grip front giant, front giant full, Jaeger, double layout - 7.800

8:20 pm - Unfortunately.. Ashley didn't make the National Team, though she did move up a few spots from yesterday. She finished up Nationals in 17th place, mainly because she had to take out a lot of her harder elements.

August 9, 2001 - 8:08 pm - Ashley has already competed on two events:

Bars: invert full to Jaeger, double layout dismount - 8.300 (19th after rotation one)
Beam: front aerial (fall), punch front, gainer double full dismount - 7.825 (23rd after rotation two)

8:50 pm - Finally some more information:

Floor: Okay routine - 8.075 (21st after rotation three)

9:14 pm - Last rotation:

Vault: Nice Yurchenko full

9:32 pm - Ashley's meet didn't go as planned. Unfortunately, she placed 17th all around. She was 21st on vault, 12th on bars, 25th on beam, and 20th on floor. Hopefully she can move up on Saturday!

July 24, 2001 - Ashley decided to only compete on two events at the Classic in California: vault and beam. She did pretty good on both events, but has petitioned to Nationals. Her petition has been accepted, so she WILL be competing in Philadelphia!

July 15, 2001 - Ashley will be in fact competing at the U.S. Classic along with teammate Marie Fjordholm. We wish both girls the best of luck, and look for updates on the 23rd - when one of the webmasters gets back from the U.S. Classic. Good luck Ashley!

June 28, 2001 - Ashley has settled in at IGA and is training full time. She's working on new skills and getting ready for up coming competitions!
